Our WORD Child Development Center is currently seeking a full time (35 hours per week) Preschool Lead Teacher. Responsibilities include organizing and leading activities for children, especially Preschool while promoting social-emotional, physical and intellectual growth and assisting teacher in implementing behavior management and developmentally appropriate strategies.
Responsibilities include oversee, manage and supervise the Preschool classrooms as needed, including opening and/or closing routines; assist the Education Coordinator, as needed including but not limited to classroom checks, walk-throughs and outdoor supervision; assist with various compliance activities including re-licensing, NAEYC re-accreditation and portfolios; ensure compliance with ratio requirements and that children are supervised at all times; ensure that lesson plans are completed on time and scheduled activities are implemented; oversee various program-wide functions including weekly thematic table, monthly menus and monthly newsletter; provide assistance to teachers with child observations, adjustments and planning, behavior management and overall lesson planning; serve as an educational resource for other Teachers and Assistants; assist Teachers with progress reports, individual child portfolios and NAEYC classroom portfolios; leads educational activities during special events and activities; supervise outdoor activities and staff, including on walks and field trips; document minutes of staff meetings, distribute to all staff and organize staff meeting log; complete daily safety check with playground; organize Parent-Teacher conferences; supervise compliance of the daycare facility with Dept. of Early Education and Care standards, FSA policies, QRIS and NAYEC procedures and accreditation standards; ensure accurate and timely program documentation including staff time sheets, attendance, IPMs, USDA snack counts, emergency and transportation binders.
The ideal candidate will be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent and must meet the Department of Early Education and Care Lead Teacher qualifications.
