Building & Grounds Janitorial Technician

We have an opportunity for a full time (35 hours per week) Buildings & Grounds Janitorial Technician.  Primary responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of assigned buildings; sweep, vacuum and wash floors; strip, wax, buff floors and wash rugs when needed; clean, disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies; replace light bulbs, etc. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness of parking lots and walks on a daily basis; including some snow removal.  Paint and refinish walls, ceilings and woodwork; move furniture, cabinets and other equipment. Set up and breakdown tables, chairs for conferences and meetings.  Install window air conditioners each spring season for summer use.  Perform minor maintenance and repair work when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, GED or three years of related experience and/or training. This position requires a valid driver's license.  Physical demands of the position must be met which include ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs. of product and materials, crawl, bend, stoop, lift and carry a 32 foot ladder.  Skills in fundamentals of carpentry and plumbing and have the ability to run light power tools and equipment is helpful.

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  Some flexibility of schedule will be necessary during times of inclement weather where you will need to report no later than 7:00 a.m. to insure building access and walks are clear of snow.
