Director of Children’s Development Services

Family Service Association is looking for a Director of Children’s Development Services for our After School Day Care (ASDC) and Kids Academy (KA) programs. This is a Full Time (35 hour per week) position with a Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. schedule, and is budgeted to start between $76,440 & $83,720 annually.
The Director of Children’s Development Services is directly responsible for the successful operations of all school-aged ASDC programs & KA. This includes personnel, fiscal and program management, personnel and program development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise Sr. Site Coordinator/Preschool Director regarding daily program operations including fiscal, personnel and recruiting, staff training, and curriculum development.
- Ensure all financial records are accurate and contemporaneous.
- Ensure facilities adhere to all governing rules and regulations by conducting routine site visits and responding to the needs of each facility in collaborations with the Sr. Site Coordinator/Preschool Director.
- Attend, conduct, and participate in meetings, seminars, and training that is relevant to quality child care.
- Develop, initiate and coordinate program policies and procedures. Assess continuously for quality improvement and identify performance improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain a healthy team environment.
- Maintain program’s accreditation/licensing.
- Collaborate staff recruiting efforts with Sr. Site Coordinator/Preschool Director and Human Resource Department to ensure staffing needs are met.
- Monitor and manage vendor contract to ensure program compliance.
- Monitor and manage FSA and CCFA client record databases to ensure it remains current.
- Supervise Program Social Workers to ensure clinical and program effectiveness.
- Coordinate and supervise all activities related to adjunct programs, e.g. venture grant programming.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with various community, state and federal resources (public and private) to maintain and/or expand current program capabilities.
- Monitor and manage program-licensing requirements to include any and all site documentation requirements, and school department requirements.
- Actively participate as member of FSA’s Management Team.
- Any other duties and responsibilities held reasonable for this position and at the supervisor’s discretion.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 21 yeas of age.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Work, Sociology or child Care.
- Must have six months experience working with school age children.
- Must have six months of administrative experience or evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administration subject areas from an accredited institution of high education.
- Must also possess working knowledge of Microsoft programs.
