Legal Intern
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with drafting correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation in connection with case work.
- Shadow case managers to learn legal aspect of treatment with antipsychotic medication.
- Become familiar with court forms and filing fees.
- Assist with court hearings, appeal hearings, etc.
- Assist with research for specific cases.
- Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or Program Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, law school, or a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a member in good standing with the Board of Bar Overseers. Knowledge of probate or elder law; previous experience with Massachusetts Probate & Family Court system preferred but not required.
**Must be able to successfully complete a MA State CORI check & CPS check.**
