Assistant Transportation Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time (35 + hours per week) Assistant Transportation Coordinator. This position is budgeted to start at $23 per hour with a Monday - Friday schedule. Times vary, based on programs' needs, but the required availability is from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Assistant Transportation Coordinator will assist in all transportation arrangements for the Agency’s operation Adult Day Health Programs, Kids Academy, and After School Day Care as needed. They will assist in scheduling all safety, mechanical, and maintenance issues with all agency transport vehicles. The Assistant Transportation Coordinator will also serve as a back-up driver to assist in program operation as needed. The Assistant Transportation Coordinator will serve as back up for Transportation Coordinator as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Schedule and maintain logs of all agency owned vehicles with routine oil changes, mechanical checks, and wheelchair lift inspections.
- Provide direct transportation to clients if needed, adhering to all requirements of the ADH van driver job description.
- Ensure weekly transportation logs are submitted and completed accurately.
- Meet monthly with all van drivers to coordinate routes, procedures, ensure adherence to vehicle maintenance schedules, and required trainings.
- Provide all around backup for any duties that may arise if the Transportation Coordinator is unavailable
- Keep the Transportation Coordinator informed of all service needs.
- Report any problems or concerns to Transportation Coordinator.
- Maintain CPR and First Aide Certificate.
- Ensure exterior and interior of all vans are clean and free of potentially hazardous materials.
- Assist in ordering department supplies and ensure adequate inventory.
- Resolve client/ caregiver issues within a timely manner.
- Review routes and disperse weekly to drivers ensuring accuracy.
- Add/ Remove clients from routes depending on status.
Education and Experience:
- The Assistant Transportation Coordinator requires a High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Experience with schedule coordination and supervision of staff required.
- Experience with elders or the disabled (ADH) preferred.
- Must possess an ability to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles preferred. Experience with vehicle maintenance preferred.
- Must complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
**The Transportation Coordinator will apply for a 7D Massachusetts Operators Driver’s License within 30 days of hire and maintain a valid MA Class D Operators License with good driving record.
**Must be able to successfully pass a random drug and alcohol test in addition to being enrolled in a drug consortium for random testing.
**Must have current physical and be able to pass EEC background record check, CORI, & CPS.
