We are seeking a reliable and compassionate part time (15 hours plus) 7D Van Driver for our Kids Academy & Afterschool Day programs in Fall River, MA.  The hours are Monday - Friday from approximately 1:30pm - 4:30pm.  No weekends and no major holidays.

Job Summary:

The ideal 7D Van Driver is comfortable transporting a wide age range to cover the different program participants. This includes car seats, wheelchairs, etc. as needed to and from the program sites. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transport children according to established safety rules and road regulations, set by MADOT while observing all rules of the road.
  • Ensure all required safety equipment is secured and properly stocked. 
  • Follow the Vehicle Maintenance Protocols and inform either the Assistant Transportation Coordinator or Transportation Coordinator of all service needs.
  • Keep exterior clean and interior of bus clean and free of potentially hazardous and sharp materials. 
  • In the event of sickness/ bodily accidents, clean up impacted areas using the body fluid clean up kits located in the vehicle. 
  • Ensure that all children are safely seated and have secured seas/seatbelts at all times.
  • Monitors orderly entering and exiting of the bus, including helping children on and off bus safely.
  • Transports children on a designated route within the time frame identified by the EEC.
  • Complete a Daily Pre and Post Trip Inspection Form.
  • Submit weekly trip reports consisting of mileage and gas receipts.  
  • Maintain a daily transportation log (route sheet) that includes drop off/ pick up times and participant attendance. 

Education and Experience:

  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Professional driving experience preferred.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid class D driver’s license for 3 continuous years
  • Must be 21+ years old
  • A 7D license is required for this position. 
  • Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certified. 
  • Must possess an ability to work with others as part of a team and communicate effectively.
***Candidates must pass CORI, EEC BRC (fingerprinting), CPS (child protective services) background checks.***
**** Must pass a paid, pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol testing and be enrolled in our drug and alcohol testing consortium.****
